Few people know how much actual work is involved in maintaining a tennis court.

Hvar Tennis Center - preparing the court
A tennis court must be very well taken care of, so that those who play on it can perform at their best. The court must be not too dry, and not too wet – it has to be in between, so that the player can have good adhesion, good frictional grip on the tennis surface.

The weather in Hvar is sometimes quite windy at night – this is when the courts get filled with leaves from the trees nearby. The first step in the cleaning process, is to remove all the leaves, the second step is bringing more clay to the court, and leveling it on the whole surface, and the final step is to put a little water on, so that the clay will have more adhesion.
The complete process of cleaning a court may take up to one and a half hour. At Gariful Tennis Center we take very good care of each tennis court.
